(yes I know we're a month in)

I know we’re already a month into 2026 but I thought it would be fun to make some trend predictions.

Low Effort Beauty

I think low effort beauty is definitely here to stay. I don’t think heatless curls are going anywhere. I can definitely see at least a few new methods to achieve them circulating on TikTok. I can also see more brands coming out with lip and cheek stains with overnight lip stains continuing to rise in popularity. I wouldn’t be surprised if brands brought out bronzer/contour versions of blush stains (which I hope they do!).

A slight update to the natural make up look

I think there’ll be a slight shift away from the clean girl ‘no makeup’ makeup look that’s been popular over the last couple of years and make up will become less subtle especially since everyone’s obsessed with 2016 right now. I don’t see 2016 glam making a full a return but I think we’ll start heading that way.

All this effort to make it look effortless

Effortless up dos where you watch the tutorial 10 times and still don’t understand how to do it - I think they’ll continue to be all over TikTok. Maybe on the 11th watch I’ll finally figure it out.

Beauty Electronics

It wouldn’t surprise me if Dyson move into skincare this year and release a red light therapy mask to rival the Shark one. Since people love a beauty gadget I reckon we’ll see at least one more electronics brand release a product within the beauty space.

Tights get an upgrade

This is already starting to happen but I think over the colder months we’ll see more patterned tights and maybe even coloured tights that would make Blair Waldorf proud.

The return of more colour

This is probably wishful thinking but I’d love to see more colour return to peoples wardrobes and a shift away from the very neutral aesthetic that a lot of people have been wearing.
